The month before your Wedding can fly by and before you know it you’re walking down the aisle. It’s important to have a plan in place in terms of any last minute arrangements you need to make or anything you need to double check, to help the final month run smoothly.

At this point, you’ll probably find yourself feeling excited and a little anxious, so being prepared in advance will help you manage this and enjoy the final month before you get married. With this in mind, here are seven things to do in the month before you get married…

Meet with your Luxury Wedding Planner

The first and most important thing is to meet with your luxury wedding planner. Arrange a meeting right at the start of the month, to allow you enough time to go over everything, check you are happy, or make any last minute changes. Book this in ahead of the final month before your big day, and take any notes with you detailing everything you want to address so that you don’t forget anything.

Wear in your Shoes

If you’ve invested in a new pair of bridal shoes for your wedding day, it’s important to take a little time to wear them in to avoid any painful blisters or rubbing. You’re on your feet a lot on your wedding day, and there’s nothing worse than finding your shoes are pinching when you have your first dance. Start wearing your shoes around the house for a few hours here and there – the more you wear them the less likely they are to rub, but remember to be careful not to scuff them.

Have a Final Run of your Hair and Makeup

Regardless of whether you’ve practised your hair and makeup already, it’s important to have a final run and put the whole look together to make sure you’re 100% happy. Book an appointment with your hair and makeup artist and make any final tweaks based on the result.

Book your hair and beauty treatments

Timing is key when it comes to your hair and beauty treatments. You don’t want to be rushing around having things done last minute, but you do want everything to look fresh. Your manicure, pedicure and hair cut and colour can be done about a week in advance. When it comes to your hair cut, sometimes it can take a little while to settle in, so where possible have your cut about two weeks in advance, and your colour a week in advance.

Your spray tan should be done just a few days before your wedding, and any facials should be done well in advance to allow any blemishes and redness to clear.

Finalize your Seating Plan

By this point, you should have had all of your RSVPs back, which means you can do a head count and work out your final seating plan. If you’ve already drawn up a seating plan this might require moving things around a little, when you do a final check on who has confirmed and who can’t make it.

Get Away for a Weekend

In the last month before you get married, make some time to get away for a weekend together. A staycation is ideal, and I recommend choosing something relaxing, like a rural escape or a spa weekend.

This will allow you time to connect just the two of you, away from all the wedding planning and last minute rush, to give you time to spend together before you become husband and wife. Your luxury wedding planner should be able to help you make this possible, taking care of any last minute details so that you can take a much needed break.

Have your Final Dress Fitting

At this point, you’ve probably already had several dress fittings, but our bodies can change so quickly, so it’s worth fitting just one last fitting into double check. Do this early in the month to allow for any last minute alterations.

The final weeks before your big day are very exciting, and as almost everything should be in place, you’ll find yourself feeling a little calmer and looking forward to the day. Having a luxury wedding planner support you can be a big weight of your shoulders though. For further assistance and more information about how I can help, get in touch.
