Your wedding photos are something that you and your partner will look back on for years to come. A great Wedding Photographer will capture all of the emotions from the day and allow memories to come rushing back. So with this in mind, here we want to highlight the importance of choosing someone that will capture your Wedding Day perfectly.
HOW MANY HOURS WILL YOU COVER?
It’s so important that you make sure everything you want to be captured on the day is covered. Do you want photos of both the bride and groom getting ready or just the bride? Do you want the evening reception covered or just until the cake cutting? Work out the timeline of the day, you can then discuss with the photographer if everything you want covered will be included, or if you will need to book extra time.
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE THE PHOTOS AFTER THE WEDDING?
A lot of work goes on behind the scenes after the photos have been taken, from editing to resizing, so it can take a little while to receive your photos. Most should have them back to you within eight weeks, but ask your photographer as they can confirm their personal timeline. Some may be able to give you a few taster shots several days after the wedding.
DO YOU OFFER ENGAGEMENT SHOOTS?
Engagement shoots are a great way to get to know your photographer and their style. You will build up a relationship and rapport, so by the time it comes to the wedding day you will be more relaxed which will make you both feel so much more comfortable in front of the camera.
CAN I SEE PHOTOS FROM PREVIOUS WEDDINGS?
Most photographers will have good examples on their website of previous weddings, but if you would like to see more they should be happy to show you. Looking at their previous work will ensure you are choosing someone that shoots in the style you have an affinity with. Also ensure you ask if the photos are all of their own work, this ensures they dont contract people in through agencies.
HAVE YOU WORKED AT OUR VENUE BEFORE?
If the photographer has worked at your venue before they will know the perfect spot’s to shoot and will usually have some photos they can show you from previous weddings, this will give you a good idea on their style. However, don’t let it put you off if they haven’t shot at the venue before, a good photographer will visit the venue to ensure they know the best spots to shoot, they will also come with a fresh eye and enthusiasm for shooting somewhere new.
If you find a photographer you love that isn’t located anywhere near to your venue, don’t be put off. They will usually be happy to travel anywhere, so don’t feel like you have to stick to someone who is located close to your venue.
